Head lice treatment Head lice (Pediculus capitis) are small parasitic insects that are living mainly on the scalp and neck hairs of their human host. Their six legs are constructed for climbing and grasping, and each legs ends in a single claw. Their presence normally doesn't connote a lack of hygiene or sanitation of their host. Headlice are mainly acquired by direct head to head contact with an infested person's hair, and it can be transferred with shared hats and other hair accessories. Children are more frequently infested than adults. |
